Core Feature Tour

One connected app for checkout, daily operations, and industry-specific workflows

This page walks through real working screens from the current Diverse Retail app, following the same sidenav flow your staff uses every day — from Point of Sale and inventory to operations, reporting, setup, and AI Assist.

Instead of only listing modules, the tour shows the actual workspace, including light and dark theme examples, so you can see how the app looks and works in daily retail use.

Point of Sale

Flexible checkout screen

A clean, flexible checkout screen built for speed at the counter and depth when you need it. Ring sales, manage customers, apply discounts, take payments, and access the workflows that keep your business moving — all from one easy-to-use POS view.

Use scan/search, Image Sell, Favorites, Gear, and Hot Sellers from the same screen. Show or hide shortcut tools, adjust action card placement, and keep rental or scuba context visible when needed. This is the front-counter differentiator to demonstrate first.

  • Action card can stay left, move below the sale ticket, move below Favorites, collapse, or narrow to one column.
  • Rentals can be shown as image categories or text categories.
  • Embedded scuba calendar gives counter staff trip and class context.
  • Customer-Facing Display Support
Show the current ticket to your customer at the counter while also displaying store branding, promotions, announcements, or advertising on a dedicated customer-facing screen.
  • Receipts, price check, customer assignment, service, rentals, tabs, invoices, and tenders are one click away.

Operations

Operational tools in one workspace

Get a real-time snapshot of your store’s daily activity from one central operations page. Monitor rentals, open invoices, running tabs, Open Po's, work orders in progress, gift card and prepaid card liability, memberships expiring, scheduled activities, classes, trips, waiver activity, and inventory valuation — all in one place so managers know what needs attention now.

  • Drill-Down Details
Start with the big picture, then click any overview card to see the details behind it. Managers can quickly move from summary totals to the rentals, invoices, work orders, schedules, liabilities, and activity records that need attention.
  • Use Operations as the management workspace between POS and back-office modules.
  • Give staff a predictable place to return for store operations work.

Inventory

Inventory control with the detail specialty retail depends on

Manage inventory with product images, barcodes, supplier records, departments, categories, sizes, colors, attributes, costs, retail pricing, margins, purchase orders, promotions, loyalty pricing, and label queues all connected.

See what is active, discontinued, aging, on hand, overstocked, low, or ready to reorder. Powerful search helps staff find the right item fast, while inventory summaries show quantity, cost value, retail pricing, all possible retail price points in one view, and product movement in a way that is easy to act on.

  • Total, active, and inactive customer counts.
  • Customer groups support loyalty and discount rules.
  • Customer data connects to POS, scuba, rentals, service, invoices, and reports.

Loyalty Programs

Group Pricing/Discounts, Reward Programs, Prepaid Cards (buy in programs)

Loyalty Programs supports several ways to reward customers, manage prepaid value, and apply structured pricing without forcing staff to remember manual exceptions at checkout.

  • Group Discounts: Build a discount grid that connects customer groups to product groups, so clubs, students, staff, military, and other groups get the right pricing. This removes manual discounting, reduces errors, and prevents unapproved buddy pricing.
  • Pre-Pay Items: Sell inventory-based pre-pay programs that customers purchase up front and redeem over time. Create Air Fill Cards, Nitrox Fill Cards, dive cards, activity packs, event passes, feeder fish cards, cricket or worm packs, coffee cards, batting cage sessions, range buckets, or any merchandise item your store wants to manage as a prepaid balance.
  • Accumulation Rewards: Reward repeat business by accumulating customer activity toward future rewards, discounts, or store-defined loyalty benefits.
  • Gift Cards: Sell and redeem stored-value cards through POS, with customer self-service balance checks available online through the built-in shopping portal.

Promotions

Automated sales and discount rules

Promotions help stores set up advertised sales, clearance events, and structured discount rules once, then let the system apply the right pricing at checkout.

  • Advertised sales automation for current, future, and historical promotion periods.
  • Set up promotions once and let the system handle the timing. Start and end dates automatically control when sale pricing is active, while day-of-week and time-of-day limits give you flexible control over when discounts apply.
  • Clearance sales, percentage-off discounts, New Sale Price, cost-plus deals, and tax-free day promos.
  • Steer promotions to customer groups or require a promotional barcode from an ad.
  • Volume discounting and Mix n Match volume discounts for grouped products.
  • Track temporary supplier promotional costs during sale periods. When a deal cost is active, Diverse Retail uses that cost instead of the regular item cost, helping promotion reports show more accurate margin and profit.
  • Promo item lists with regular price, promo price, quantity on hand, and rule tracking.

Purchase Orders

Smarter purchasing from suggestion to receiving

Build smarter purchase orders with auto-suggested ordering, replenishment tools, and flexible supplier workflows. Diverse Retail helps identify what needs to be ordered, supports unlimited back orders, tracks cost changes from purchase orders and supplier catalogs, and handles case packs, eaches, order multiples, minimum order quantities, and reorder alerts — giving your team better control from suggested order to receiving.

  • Identify what needs to be ordered from suggested quantities, base reorder methods such as Min/Max and Replace Qty Sold, and sales activity.
  • Support special orders, back orders, case packs, eaches, order multiples, and minimum order quantities.
  • Smart Ordering: Available with an Operations Subscription, Smart Ordering uses sales velocity, current stock, reorder targets, and lead-time context to suggest practical min/max and days-of-supply levels automatically.
  • Cost Change Tracking: Monitor cost changes from supplier catalogs and purchase orders before margins slip. Supplier catalogs help maintain broad pricing updates, while purchase orders capture real-world cost changes on the items buyers reorder most often.
  • Manage unsent, sent, and historical purchase orders from a central purchasing workflow.

Suppliers

Supplier catalogs connected to inventory

Connect your vendors to the inventory and purchasing tools that keep your store moving. Supplier catalogs help you build inventory faster, manage cost changes, identify new items, maintain MAP and MSRP, and support special orders from customer request through receiving and customer notification.

  • Maintain supplier records with contact, ordering, and item-count visibility.
  • Use catalogs to add products faster and compare new costs against current inventory.
  • Support vendor-specific purchasing workflows and customer special-order follow-up.

Reports and business context

Sales, transactions, weather, and demographics

Managers can review sales summaries, closeouts, transaction journal, department sales, product sales, monthly sales, weather history, and radius demographics.

  • Transaction Journal links transactions to receipt views.
  • Weather history connects visits and net sales to conditions.
  • Remote Tasks supports scanning work such as physical inventory, receiving PO, and creating PO.

  • Queue requested product labels and promotion tags from daily workflows.
  • Build reusable label and tag formats for shelves, items, markdowns, and events.
  • Use store-defined layouts to keep printed labels consistent across departments.

Setup

Adapt the interface to your store and your users.

Configure the system around how your business works.

Theme setup, store setup, station settings, business settings, email setup, lists, integrations, timeclock configuration, and other configuration areas live in one setup workspace to help tailor each store while keeping controls visible and easy to manage.

  • Personalized User Themes
Give every store and staff member a workspace that feels right. Choose a store-wide theme, or let individual users personalize their station with light and dark modes, background styles, branded focus colors, and optional industry-inspired background images.

With 60 prebuilt focus colors and themed background image sets for scuba, team sports, ski, surf, health and grocery, weather, and pet retailers, each workspace can match your brand, your industry, or simply the way your staff likes to work.
  • Customer-Facing Theme Control
Carry the same branded experience into your customer calendar and shopping cart. Use the same light and dark modes, focus colors, background styles, and industry-inspired images to make your online customer experience match your store’s look and feel.
  • Tender Setup: Choose the tender types your store accepts, then customize each one with your preferred icon, color, and display order.
  • Penny Rounding Support: Control how penny rounding is applied for cash payments. Set it to Always On, Always Off, or Prompt at Tender so the cashier can choose during payment.
  • Shift Start & Cash Drawer Setup: Start each shift with the cash drawer control your store needs. Open the day manually, start after closeout, or auto-start the shift based on your preferred workflow. Set a fixed starting drawer amount or use a simple bill-and-coin count to calculate the opening cash total.
  • Blind Closeout Support: Support blind closeout workflows by hiding the expected drawer amount from the cashier during closeout. Staff count what is actually in the drawer without seeing the target amount first, helping reduce adjustment bias and improve cash accountability.
  • Cash Drop Settings: Define cash drop rules to help staff remove excess cash from the drawer during the day. Track drops as part of the shift workflow and keep drawer totals cleaner for closeout and reporting.
  • Commissions: Configure commissions to match the way your store pays staff. Turn commissions off, pay by commission levels, use a fixed associate percentage, or assign commission rates by department. Split commissions are also supported, allowing sales credit to be shared when more than one associate contributes to the sale.
  • Split Commissions: & Associate Selection When split commissions are enabled, associates can be selected during the sale or automatically assigned based on time clock activity. This helps support team selling, floor assistance, and shared customer service without adding extra steps at closeout. We also support on-demand split mode which lets you choose the associates once and keep that split active until you decide to change it, making team selling faster without adding repeated steps at checkout.

External Integrations

Connected services where shops need them

External Integrations live under Setup, but they carry a lot of operational power for stores that want connected weather, waivers, shipping, email, accounting, payments, and certification workflows.

  • Open-Meteo: Weather and marine data for business context, shop reporting, and dive-day visibility.
  • Smartwaiver: Third-party waiver integration, alongside Diverse Retail's built-in dynamic waivers as a free option.
  • EasyPost: Shipping module integration for carrier and shipment workflows.
  • Mailjet: Transactional and bulk email delivery for customer communication and marketing campaigns.
  • QuickBooks Online API: Accounting connectivity for shops that use QuickBooks Online.
  • PayPal API: PayPal payment connectivity for online and customer-facing workflows.
  • SSI Certification Sharing: Share certification context where training and customer records need to connect.

Security

Access control and audit visibility

Security gives managers the tools to define who can use the software, what each person can access, and how system access is reviewed over time.

  • Permission Groups: Assign users to permission sets with controls for access, view-only behavior, lockout, hidden features, identity confirmation, and rank levels.
  • System Logins: Define staff access to the software and connect users to the correct permission group.
  • IP Control: Build IP allowlists or blocklists to control where the application can be accessed from.
  • User Login Windows: Add another layer of access control by limiting when each user account can sign in. Restricted hours prevent off-hours access while keeping trusted accounts flexible.
  • Logs: Review permission logs, sign-in logs, IP control logs, delete logs, and gift card logs for operational accountability.
